The idea came to me when a friend discouraged me from leaving a vehicle stored at a beach resort that I frequent.  He explained how the car he was storing would have all kinds of problems whenever he returned to use it after a couple of months with just his traditional cover over the top.

The tires were cracking, the rubber hoses would quickly deteriorate, and many engine parts would corrode and become troublesome.  Although the cost of replacing those parts was objectionable, the real problem was that the vehicle was unreliable and took valuable vacation time to repair.

Another friend had a second home in a desert community.  He told me how the blowing sand worked its way into the engine parts while he was away causing all kinds of engine problems.  Besides the mechanical problems the interior of the car often played host to nesting insects that crawled in from below.  His wife would freak out if he didn't clean out the bugs before she got into the car!  He wasn't' all that fond of the little critters either.

I designed UnderCover so that I could leave my vehicle stored in a parking space near the beach and not have to spend my vacations solving car problems caused by the salt air, sand and pests that attacked my vehicle while I was away.

Now I am making my invention available to the public.  It takes less than five minutes to install before you leave and less than 5 minutes to remove it when you return.  Because of the blend of sturdy yet light-weight materials I have used, it easily rolls up into a 6 X 15 inch package that can be stored in the optional storage bag and left in the trunk.
